The full realisation of human potential comes with the balance of the left brain with the right brain, when we can match our IQ with our EQ. That is we will find the road to success easy when we have an equal balance of intellect and emotional intelligence to guide the way. Our reaserch into the effect of the horse on human behaviour has led us to develop a practical system to acheive this goal.

At Holistequine we work with the horse to discover each child's potential and provide them with the necessary life skills for adulthood

During these interactive programs the horse is able to mirror and unlock their hidden potential and change the way each child feels about themselves. This instils self esteem and confidence in them thereby improving the way they interact with others

We cannot expect our children to navigate their way through life if they are never taught basic life skills, if they are never taught how to express themselves in a manner that is acceptable in society.

The reason children and teenagers fight, bully and "misbehave" is because they are often unable to understand their emotions and express their "feelings" as they attempt to push boundaries in order to find their place in the world.

However if their potential is realised and they are given high self esteem and a sense of "boundaries" early in life they will not have to act this way. The horse sets them up with "inner boundaries" which then gives them a reference point for "outer boundaries' and the ability to interact with others

Children and adults alike need to be able to survive in the world both intellectually and emotionally.

In our western society we can tend to overprotect and indulge our off springs whereas in other cultures and traditions these same children are prepared for adulthood through a ritual or a 'rite of passage" which prepares them early in life physically, emotionally and mentally for the discipline required in becoming an adult.

We need to be teaching our children to communicate with others both verbally and non verbally and teach them how to handle emotions like anger, frustration and compassion.

At Holistequine we see "negative emotions" as energy, energy which once understood can be translated into positive power to succeed.

The ability to do this effectively is called Emotional Intelligence or E.I.

Working with our horses in these programs give children the mental strength to focus as they experience and integrate the "sensation" of self esteem.

With the horse's help they experience personal power and  then integrate it to become part of their personality

 Equine Assisted Life Coaching is a form of Equine Assisted Therapy that treats the whole person in body, mind and spirit
